Workshop Overview:

This introductory workshop will help both early career educators and seasoned educators to  use popular education strategies and practical tools for introduction of  metacognition and microlearning to build the students into effective learners of 21st Century, avoid cognitive overloading and subsequently avoid breakdown under stress.

Under this condition of Covid Pandemic, this workshop aims to equip educators with the essential knowledge, informed by evidences from cognitive neuroscience. Emphasis on strategies of “chunking” guided by metacognitive awareness will ensure production of lessons to engage students in their learning process.

 

Learning Outcome:

  • explain the importance of metacognition and microlearning in making students better learners
  • relate metacognition and microlearning with stress reduction through handling of cognitive load.
  • develop instructional strategies to emphasize metacognition & microlearning in undergraduate training programs in health professions.
