Workshop Synopsis:-
An Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is a format of clinical examination used in health professions education to test clinical skill performance and competence. As OSCE is an important component in the student's assessment, it is essential to ensure that OSCE station construct conforms to the evidence best practices. This workshop will focus on how to construct an authentic OSCE station. Participants will also be exposed to how to develop checklist rubrics to assess different clinical components including professionalism.
Workshop Objective:-
The objective of this workshop is to train faculty in developing authentic OSCE stations.
Workshop Learning Outcomes:-
After this workshop, the participants will be able to:
- recognize various ways to assess different clinical components in an OSCE station including professionalism.
- define what constitutes a borderline performance by candidate.
