ABOUT

Studying at university is a life-changing experience that often requires some support, which could help you achieve your dreams. At IMU, we offer a number of scholarships and bursaries to help you fully achieve your potential.

Foundation

Family Loyalty Reward

A one-off discount of RM2,000 is available. To qualify, the prospective applicant must have a familial relationship as a sibling, spouse, or child of an individual who is either presently enrolled in or has completed a full-time programme at IMU.

Foundation in Science Scholarship

Available for students with 2023 SPM or 2023/2024 IGCSE/O-Level qualification.

Progression Bursary

Applicable to all students enrolled in the Foundation in Science 2024 intakes and successfully progressed immediately into any of the undergraduate programmes at IMU.

Foundation in Arts Scholarship

Available for students with 2023 SPM or 2023/2024 IGCSE/O-Level qualification.

IMU-Merit Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to students demonstrating outstanding academic excellence, extra-curricular participation and leadership qualities.

IMU-Merit Scholarship is available to cover

Full Tuition Fee (100%) for full duration of programme
Partial Tuition Fee (50%) for full duration of programme

This scholarship is only applicable to Malaysians applying for the LOCAL option.

How to Apply

Applicants are required to submit the following supporting documents to be assessed by Scholarship Committee Members.
- Personal Statement
- SPM Certificate, or equivalent
- Foundation Certificate, or equivalent
- IMU Conditional Letter of Offer, if applicant has received an offer from IMU
- Co-Curricular Certificate with cGPA
- IELTS/MUET Certificate or equivalent
After the closing date, selected candidates will be called for an interview. The successful candidate will be required to sign a scholarship agreement.

Scholarship Details

All scholarships will only cover the tuition fee and no allowance for living expenses, books and study-related equipment is provided.
The amount will be disbursed on a semester by semester basis.
Students are required to maintain the required minimum cGPA of 3.30 per semester in order to continue with the scholarship. Failing which, the scholarship may be discontinued with immediate effect.
Students who withdraw (academic and non-academic reasons) without completing the programme will be required to repay the amount that has been disbursed for the financial award given.
Repeat modules will not be covered.
IMU Scholarship Committee may vary the selection requirements as and when it deems necessary.

IMU-Need Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to students who are facing financial difficulties and demonstrating good academic achievement despite the challenging situation.

This scholarship covers 100% of tuition fee and is only applicable to Malaysians applying for LOCAL option.

Eligibility

Open to Malaysians only.
Applicant must be applying for the First Degree programme.
Applicant must meet the merit criteria mentioned below.
Applicant’s household income must be in the B40 or M40 category only.
Applicant with involvement in the community (based on co-curricular activities records) will have an added advantage.

Scholarship Details

Scholarships will be awarded with bonding, subject to the programme.
This scholarship will cover the tuition fee and accommodation support.
The amount will be disbursed on a semester by semester basis.
Students are required to maintain the required minimum cGPA of 3.30 per semester in order to continue with the scholarship. Failing which, the status of the scholarship will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee.
Students who withdraw (academic and non-academic reasons) without completing the programme will be required to repay the amount that has been disbursed for the financial award given.
Repeat modules or semesters will not be covered.
IMU Scholarship Committee may vary the selection requirements as and when it deems necessary.

Global Leadership Scholarship

The scholarships are open to both Malaysian and International students for 2024 intake of the programmes below. Scholarship will be deducted every semester.
