National Higher Education Fund (NHEF) / Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN)

Eligibility

  • Malaysian citizen.
  • Aged not more than 45 years on the date of application.
  • No PTPTN loan accounts are managed by the Debt Management Agency (APH).
  • The monthly (gross) income of parents or guardians does not exceed RM50,000 (after deducting RM250 per dependent).
  • The undergraduate programme pursued by the student in IMU University must be approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and registered with The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN).
  • PTPTN loan is available for the IMU University local option programmes conducted fully in Malaysia.
  • For the Partner School Option programmes of Medicine & Dentistry, the enrolled students are eligible to apply for PTPTN. The loan will only be disbursed for the duration of study undertaken in Malaysia. Other undergraduate credit transfer programmes are not eligible for PTPTN loan.
  • The remaining duration of the course of study during application must not be less than one (1) semester.
  • Has opened a Simpan SSPN Prime account.
  • PTPTN management board charges an administration cost of 1% per year of the remaining loan sum.
  • Students who have received PTPTN loan through previous colleges/universities but have withdrawn/not completed the studies are required to terminate the contract and make full repayment at PTPTN office before a new application can be made.

 

To apply online, student needs to:

  • Create CIMB Account
    • Personal Saving Account must be registered under student’s name. Joint and other types of bank account are not accepted.
    • Opened at any CIMB branch or online via CIMB website.
    • Students to bring along IMU University  Offer Letter to the bank. If it is required by the bank to have the Verification of Student Letter,  a copy of the letter can be downloaded from MyIMU. Please note that students will be able to download the letter only after enrolling in the programme.
  • Open SSPN Prime Account
    • Students can open for the account via myPTPTN or walk-in to any Maybank counter.
    • To prepare a minimum deposit of RM20.00.
  • Purchase of BSN PIN Number
    • Can be purchased for RM5.00 online via myPTPTN or walk-in to any BSN counter.
    • PIN number only valid for 6 months.
    • Please refer to this user guide manual for the PIN number online purchase.
  • Download and Create myPTPTN Account
  • Preparation of the Supporting Documents
    • A copy of IMU Offer Letter from Marketing and Enrollment Office.
    • A copy of the Confirmed Offer of Admission Letter can be downloaded from MyIMU. Please note that students will be able to download the letter only after enrolling in the programme.
    • To upload both documents while completing the application via myPTPTN.

Time of Application Duration

Students can start to submit the application through myPTPTN starting from the first day of the month until the last day of the month following the study programme.

  • Students must provide their parents’ information under the Guardians section when submitting the online application if the parents are still alive.
  • Students cannot use other individuals’ information when submitting the online application.
  • Students must submit their online application personally and the use of third-party services is not allowed.

Loan Agreement Submission

  • Student will receive an email from PTPTN on the agreement to be submitted.
  • Log in into myPTPTN to view the agreement.
  • For submission of agreement a digital signature for RM25 needs to be purchased via the myPTPTN.
  • Once the agreement has been duly signed by the PTPTN Officer, students can print the complete loan agreement. The offer letter will only be displayed for 60 days on myPTPTN.

Disbursement of Loan

  • The initial disbursement amount will be credited into student’s CIMB bank account within 20 days from the date upon submission of complete set of agreement documents to PTPTN.
  • For the following subsequent disbursement, the loan will be disbursed following the below schedule for every semester according to the student’s result and transcript release date.
  • The loan disbursement to students for the following semester is based on the following conditions:
    • Currently studying at the approved level, programme, and active student in IMU University; and
    • Passing the previous semester’s examination with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher.
  • Suspension of disbursement will happen should the students fail to meet the above conditions.
  • PTPTN will not make further disbursements if students extend their program, as PTPTN does not provide study loans during the extended period.

  • Please take note that PTPTN does not release payment of loan according to IMU fee payment deadline. Students are responsible to pay tuition fees of every semester to IMU by deadline stated in the invoice.

Loan Repayment

  • Students will need to refer to the loan agreement for further details.
  • Repayment of loan can be made 12 months after completion of studies without waiting for the Repayment Notice.
  • Interest begins 12 months after completion of studies.

Loan Repayment Deferment

  • Repayment Deferment can be considered for borrowers who continue their studies and those who are unemployed.
  • An application to PTPTN must be submitted online through myPTPTN.
  • Approval for deferment is determined by PTPTN management, and the duration of the deferment period is also decided by PTPTN.

Eligibility

  • Malaysian nationality
  • For students who have yet to start their undergraduate.
  • ⁠For students enrolled in a undergraduate programme: Have at least two years left to complete your studies.
  • Have overcome or are currently overcoming difficult life challenges.
  • Demonstrate leadership potential and embody YTAR’s values.
  • Priority will be given to candidates from challenging backgrounds, such as Persons with Disabilities (PWD), rural communities and with a household income of below RM4,850 a month.

Hong Leong Foundation

Eligibility

  • Malaysian citizens aged between 17 and 25 years.
  • From a household with a total monthly income of RM5,000 or below.
  • Demonstrate a consistently strong academic record with a minimum academic result of:
    • 8As in SPM or 6As in UEC; and/or
    • CGPA 3.50 in STPM/Matriculation/A-Level/Foundation/Diploma/Degree
  • Applicable to those pursuing full-time undergraduate studies in any degree programme in Malaysia.
  • For current university students, consistent academic performance must be demonstrated across previous semesters or academic years.

Benefits

    • 100% full scholarship or 50% scholarship for tuition fees.
    • Provide scholarship coverage for undergraduate degree studies up to RM 30,000 (per annum).
    • Provide scholarship for Degree in Medicine or Dentistry up to RM 50,000 (per annum).
    • Non-bonding scholarship.
    • Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
    • Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate leadership qualities, excel in co-curricular activities and/or sports, and/or actively engage in community service.

KUOK Foundation

General Terms & Conditions

  • Only Malaysian citizens are eligible to apply.
  • Kuok Foundation study awards are for needy students only.
  • Applicants should possess good academic qualifications and should be active in school.
  • This financial aid is offered to all students pursuing local degree programmes which are MQA certified.

Time of Application

Application is usually available in July. Kuok Foundation will announce in the local news and their website for the application opening.

How to Apply?

Apply and submit online at apply.kuokfoundation.org. After applicants have submitted their application forms online, applicants MUST ALSO courier / send by Pos Laju or by hand the PRINTED COPY OF THE APPLICATION FORMS together with supporting documents to the Foundation’s office. All applications must be submitted before the closing date stipulated in the announcement. Late applications will not be considered. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified for interview.

Type of Award

Interest free study loan or ½ loan ½ grant. No service bond.

Value of Award

The funding is up to RM50,000 per year (depending on courses undertaken and value is subject to revision from time to time)

Repayment of Loan

By monthly installments commencing one (1) month after completion of course.

Employee Provident Fund (EPF) / Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP)

General Information

This scheme allows qualified EPF members to withdraw their savings from Account No. 2 to finance their children’s / self study. Withdrawals are allowed for local and overseas education. Maximum withdrawals will depend on the amount of funds the parents / student have in their Account No. 2, as well as how much the university’s fees are. Members can apply for this scheme every semester (two withdrawal in one academic year), or every academic year (one time withdrawal in one academic year), or overall module fees.

How to Apply?

  • Collect KWSP withdrawal form from the IMU cashier on ground floor.
  • Submit the completed form to IMU cashier for processing (3 working days required).
  • Submit all supporting documents to KWSP for approval.

General Term

  • Applicant needs to be member of KOJADI.
  • Be noted that payment is required for membership registration process.
  • Loan will be disbursed in one lump sum after all the duly executed loan documents and payments have been received by KOJADI.

Main Applicant

  • Malaysian citizen
  • Undergraduate Students: 18 – 35 years old
  • Postgraduate/Professional Programme Students: 18 – 45 years old
  • Covers enrolment at both local and overseas institutions, including partner school track
  • Existing or prospective student in possession of an admission/enrolment letter from the IMU University

 

Joint Applicant

  • Co-applicant (if required) must be a Malaysian citizen
  • 21 – 65 years old (not exceeding 70 years at the end of financing tenure)
  • Immediate family member of applicant
  • Minimum monthly household income of RM5,000.00

 

Education Loan Type

  • Unsecured Financing (No Collateral)
    • Minimum financing is RM10,000.00
    • Maximum financing is up to RM150,000.00
    • Tenure up to 15 years or age 50 (whichever is earlier)
    • Etiqa coverage is encouraged to be taken
  • Secured Financing (With Acceptable Collateral)
    • Minimum financing is RM10,000.00
    • Maximum financing is up to course fees OR Margin of Financing (MOF) of the collateral to be charged/pledged, whichever is lower
    • Collateral – Property, Fixed Deposit (FD/IFD) /General Investment Account (GIA-i), Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) Unit
    • Tenure is up to 20 years or age 70 (whichever is earlier) or up to 30 years or age 70 (whichever is earlier)
