Entry Requirements
Academic Requirements
- Master’s Degree in relevant field that accepted by the University’s Senate; or
- Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree accepted by the University’s Senate; or
- First Class Honour Degree in a relevant field that is accepted by the University’s Senate (direct entry).
English Requirements

- IELTS : Band score 6.0; or
- TOEFL (iBT): Overall score of 60; or
- Cambridge English : Advanced (CAE) : Overall score of 169; or
- Cambridge English : Proficiency (CPE) : Overall score of 169; or
- Cambridge Linguaskill : Overall score of 169; or
- Pearson Test of English (PTE) : Overall score of 59;
The following categories of students are exempted from the above requirements:
- International students from countries in which English is the first language.
- International students who graduated from any Malaysian or other institutions where the curriculum is delivered in English.

- All IMU Alumni who are self-funding their postgraduate studies and meet the eligibility criteria will be eligible for a bursary of 15%
- Application fee is payable upon submission of application
- Registration fee and refundable caution deposit is payable upon acceptance of the offer letter issued by the IMU Admissions Office
- Students must adhere to the Policy on Payment of Fees

The global healthcare sector is among the most dynamic and rapidly growing industries in the world economy. The health industry has become a powerful engine of economic growth. Healthcare industry can be a robust economic engine and one that indirectly creates significant social impact. The Malaysian health sector growth prospect looks extremely attractive. The Sector is expected to grow to MYR127 billion (US$30 billion) by 2027, fueled by increasing demand for healthcare services from an ageing population, rising affluence, and increasing life expectancy. Spurred by demographic shifts such as extended longevity and a rise in lifestyle, diseases such as hypertension and cardiovascular ailments, cancer and diabetes, national healthcare costs are also increasing dramatically. The IMU doctoral programme in Healthcare Management is designed to develop scholars that can apply theoretical frameworks from the social sciences (such as economics, organisational theory and management, sociology) to address pressing health policy and management research questions. The programme is purposefully interdisciplinary and seeks to prepare students for research careers in academics as well as in public and private sector agencies and organisations.
